After a successful career in corporate America, I am pursuing my dream of becoming a professional artist. I’ve tried my hand at various art forms since I was a young girl, but fell in love with kiln formed glass, which has been my main focus for the past several years.
Taking a leap of faith, I purchased a kiln and some glass, and quit my salaried job. I haven’t looked back since and spend every spare minute in my studio creating unique, creative and eye-catching works of art. I’m finally doing what makes my heart sing.
I am fascinated by the translucent, luminescent qualities of glass that allow it to reflect, refract and transform its appearance with each shift of light.
I work mainly with sheets of fusing glass, cutting and placing, then fusing and often slumping to add dimension. I also work with tempered glass, which would otherwise end up in a landfill. I shatter this glass, then fuse it into something entirely new.
My inspiration comes, both literally and figuratively, from the color of life in the Florida Keys, incorporating a fun and funky vibe. Using imagination and humor in my art, my goal is to provide a smile and a bit of lightheartedness to the world.
